Saudade Vem Correndo

I haven't been updating not because nothing's been happening but because everything is... and I haven't got my computer (which is quite annoying >__< )
Thanks to great flatmate... I have the use of this laptop whenever...
I have a few classes here and there, reading that stacks up to just about higher than my dirty laundry (eww I know)
So Life is not fantabulous but it is not bad either; it's somewhat like a buttery apple crumble, moist and lovely but at times dry and make your throat scratchy...
I have done up my room, and it has a lovely vanilla scented glow and is somewhat in the confines of being neat...
I love my 3-day weekend (for the moment but I am keeping my fingers crossed when the other timetable comes out next week) -- this flexibility has spawned several lazy afternoons which are spent chilling out to music and magazines (-__-)
On a typical weekday, there are usually quiet mornings spent hearing the wind rustle the leaves...
On special occasions - dvd nights with fellow flatmates;
But more often, it's just crowding the kitchen with talk, aromatic international flavours and sailing through the blues of missing home...

Will think of everyone when I wear it... and it will
keep me doubly warm when I think of you all!
My 2nd Good-bye -
Dear C., thank you for the catch-up session at the atmospheric Choupinette.

We'll be in touch.

My First Goodbye -
Wishing Y. all the happiness in the world.
I probably can't help you much being inexperienced and away most of the year...
but I hope that you know that all of us will always be your listening ear.
There are somethings that don't change you know? Heh.
Countdown

KTV Episode 1 was Fantastic. So Was KTV episode 2 this morning - though we were all somewhat tired. I am sorry if I was cranky in any way, was so tired...but still *ahem* I believe some incriminating 'noise' was recorded.

After which, my dearest S. and Y. accompanied me to Cold Storage and we yakked while choosing fruits for my Granny. My patient friends! We then walked on to some corner and yakked somemore; during which, I had to leave rather abruptly and my tolerant friends waited (yet again) for the taxi to arrive.

Great family gathering, a couple of my favourite relatives, especially my cousin LL -I Love you lots lots lots! (Not that you will ever read this anyway)

I love my candy floss bearer!
I will miss you lots!!!

Exhausted.

Tired. Packing. Too many people to see. Too many things to do.
I am so sorry if I haven't managed to meet up with you
but please know I am thinking of you
just as much.

Change in Progress. Bear with me.

I love these people, I really do.

The Ichee Darlings popped a fabulous surprise by bringing themselves right to my doorstep, not short of a delightful treat that marked the beginning of a new decade.

I had to convince myself that this was neither an illusion nor a fabrication of my mind. And though I gave up crying a long time ago,and hence could not shed a tear to show how touched I was - the night was akin to a sweet reverie you never want to let go. How lovely it was to revel in the bliss and banter of familiar company!

I miss my ichee darlings so much and shame on me for seeing so little of them but I know that I am so fortunate to have such friends, and even more grateful for their affection and thoughtfulness.

At this point,I have a truckload of things to say, but all I can handle right now is that I love you people, I really do.

The Spring Diaries Part IX

Too tired to blog. Exam beckons.

However the genius of Elizabeth Barrett Browning might prove a more exciting read.

Sonnets from the Portuguese -- XLIII

How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

The Spring Diaries (VIII)

It's amazing how someone so small can make so much bloody noise.
The banging of doors, the loud incessant chatter, the brash and insincere fake-it parallel conversations, the 'can-hear-you-even-two- stories-above' inconsistent queen's english accent -
are in short, bloody annoying.

I admit we are all dramatic at one point, but so much insincerity in such a short form (much shorter than me - which says a lot) is just a wonder on its own.

Oh June come soon, so I can be rid of you.

The Spring Diaries (Part VI)

Darling flatmate's Bday... woo hoo
Went to the Living room for drinks. I love the leather cushions and extensive cocktail list --
No one makes the non-alcoholic drinks so fun!
Had my first 'Virgin's Kiss' and crowned the night with 'Princess Asia'
No pictures yet coz' digital cam's down at the moment... but hope everyone had fun.

Argh.. exams ... exams....

The Spring Diaries (Part IV)

No joke can be that funny in the wee hours of the morning.
I need to soundproof my windows,
as well as the voices in my head.
The apples are sour, I feel blue,
Please shut the hell up so that we can all be early for school.

The Spring Diaries (Part II)

The weather here is known to be unpredictable. The colour of the sky, its moods and the fluctuations in temperature just make good tea-time conversation, and everyone possibly makes a reference to it at least once a day.

But when I woke up this morning, it was just unbelievable--
A million miles away from home and the weather just felt completely like a Sunday morning in Singapore.
Albeit cooler and less humid, I could feel the sun stream into my tiny room and for the first time I turned the heater off to let myself enjoy the warmth of the rays that teleported me back to the little island I call home.

The day slowed into a unpredicatably predictable sunny day; dustings of rain at the strike of ten-- yet still perky enough to allow a quick supper at the local Kebab shop.

I could live in this semi-warmth forever.

The Spring Diaries (Part I)

Come and go,
You are no more than the dark phantom that haunts my past;
Fleeting moments you spend now creeping into my present.
I never thought of you on any of those cold winter nights,
Yet you saturate my mind on this breezy day of spring.
'tis a day of Barbecue smells smoking up my window
The sprightly sun
leaves me longing to play frisbee on the freshly cut lawn--

Why does your name ring with all things beautiful and happy
When all your name alludes to is rain, plain and suffering

I wish your presence will fade away
Before the blossoms leave the trees!

Many people say "If you ever need to talk to someone, I am always a call away..."
But how many of them genuinely mean it?
---
I do... because I understand how comforting it is when you have someone to hear you out.
I understand because I know you will always be there if I need you.
xxx
I extend my help to you too
And I love you more than words can say.

Happy New Term

Everyone streamed in again, from all parts of the world, to Notts which is seeing more light, much to my delight. Familiar faces sprawled over all parts of the campus, lovely flatmates soon to fill the flat with much jovial cheer and spirit. Not to mention the lovely gals (my soul sisters); the West Entrance of Notts has never been so lively since the last term ended.

Though, the pangs of missing home never go away, familar company soothe the ache but the unavoidable gap remains. I chant June June June.
